We
are so very proud of our teachers at Milford Cooperative preschool - they
are dedicated, kind, and extremely knowledgeable about child development.
They also work wonderfully together as a team to provide a fun learning
environment for the students. Our staff members hold current CPR and First
Aid Certificates and take part in yearly OSHA (blood born pathogen)
training as well as staff development training.
Mrs.
Holly
Mrs. Holly joined the MCP family in the fall of 2006. She has been a
wonderful director for many reasons - her child-centered and
multi-dimensional approach to learning, her positive attitude, and her
wonderful songs - just to name a few. Mrs. Holly holds a Bachelor of
Science degree from Michigan State University with a major in Child
Development/Family Community Services. She completed her student teaching
in the Child Development Laboratory Preschool at MSU. Mrs. Holly was also
a lead teacher at Education Child Care Center in Lansing for five years.
Her belief is that children learn best when they feel comfortable and
secure and are able to develop positive feelings of self-worth. Mrs. Holly
also believes that children should be exposed to many different learning
experiences and be able to have hands-on interactions in their
environment. Mrs. Holly is the proud mother of two girls. When she
is not busy chauffeuring them around to their various after-school
activities, she enjoys spending time outdoors. Her family has a cottage up
north where they enjoy water skiing in the summer and snow skiing in the
winter.
Mrs.
Laura
Mrs. Laura has been a teacher at MCP since the Fall of 2004. The MCP
students love her bright smile, her fun games, and her easy-going nature.
She comes to us from Brighton where she lives with her family - husband
Matt of 23 years and five children ranging in age from 21 to 10 years of
age. For 17 years, Mrs. Laura has been actively involved with her
children's education. She has worked and volunteered countless hours
alongside her children in the classroom as a room mother, teacher's
helper, and party planner. She enjoys being around children, spending time
with her family, gardening, and going out to the movies and dinner.
Mrs.
Becky
Mrs. Becky became part of the MCP staff in the fall of 2006. The
students love her patient and comforting demeanor. Mrs. Becky lives
in Commerce Township with her husband and four children. She has extensive
experience with education as she home-schooled her children for four
years. Mrs. Becky enjoys camping and traveling to Mackinaw and Florida
with her family. She and her family also like hiking in the great
outdoors and gardening.
